Features

The Safety Rider^® V mini speed hump is an economical speed reduction device made from vulcanized rubber. Unlike asphalt, the rubber mini hump is molded to spec creating a uniform and reliable solution to slow vehicle traffic. The mini humps are simple to install and do not require road closures or ideal weather conditions. Plastic shields are inserted into pre-drilled holes and the units are bolted down to keep them from shifting.

The Safety Rider^® V is ideal for slowing traffic in front of gates, toll booths, all parking access facilities, and anywhere slow traffic flow is required. Our durable solution also holds up well to heavy load-bearing truck traffic.

Reflective tape on both the mid-sections and end caps provide optimal visibility, even on a dark night, alerting drivers well in advance.

Safety Rider^® V is covered by a 3 year warranty on the product; 1 year warranty on the tape.

General description:

Safety Rider^® V is constructed from three different interlocking modules: middle unit, left end cap (with female interlocking recess) and right end cap (with male interlocking extension). The nominal footprint dimensions of each module are: 35.4" (90 cm) by 19.7" (50 cm). The nominal thickness of each module is 2" (5 cm). The end caps have the same footprint as the middle modules. The weight of each middle module of the Safety Rider® V is 36 lbs (16.3 kg). The weight of each end cap module is 32 lbs (14.5 kg). The Safety Rider® V rubber speed hump middle and end cap modules are outfitted with reflective yellow tape for increased visibility.

Installations Instructions

Step 1.

Determine the location of the Safety Rider^® V mini hump and sweep the surface clean of debris / dust. Use chalk to mark the center lines (parallel and perpendicular to the direction of the street) and border lines on the surface.

Step 2.

Assemble and position the units, starting from the center line (parallel to the direction of the street).

Note: Make sure the units are tight and well aligned before moving on to step 3.

Step 3.

Drill 9/16" diameter holes into the surface, through the existing holes of the placed units. The holes should be 3 1/2" - 4" deep in order to accommodate the plastic shields that are 3" long. After each hole is drilled, insert a plastic shield in order to keep the units from shifting.

Note: Make sure the holes are clear of dust and debris before installing the shields. (A portable blower is useful for this purpose)

Step 4.

Insert the bolts and steel washers into the product installation holes and tighten every element. Do not over tighten.

Maintenance

Mini Humps require minimal maintenance. Periodically inspect the bolts and tighten if necessary.
